(thepostmillennial)President-Elect Joe Biden raised eyebrows on Sunday when he stated his administration will prioritize assistance to businesses based on race.
“Our priority will be Black, Latino, Asian, and Native American owned small businesses, women-owned businesses, and finally having equal access to resources needed to reopen and rebuild,” said Biden.
This statement drew criticism on social media with many pointing out the divisive nature of identity politics.
Biden added that his administration will make “real efforts” to help communities that “have faced systemic barriers to relief.”
This announcement was part of Biden’s overall briefing on his plan to recover the economy from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The inauguration of Joe Biden will commence on January 20, 2021.
