(The Post Millennial) – Shots were reportedly fired at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis. Police told local media outlets there 8 people are confirmed dead and that the alleged shooter committed suicide.

According to WRTV, the shooting was reported at the FedEx facility on Mirabel Road. The scene has been declared a “mass casualty, Level 1” event. The names of the victims have not been released. Four people were hospitalized, including one person in critical condition. Two victims were treated at the scene.
I-70 is closed in both directions between I-465 and Ronald Regan Pkwy due to police activity in the area. Please seek alternate routes

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Genae Cook told WRTV that officers were called to the location around 11PM for shots fired.

WISHTV8 reported that “Jeremiah Miller had finished a shift at the FedEx facility and was preparing to work a second consecutive shift when he and a coworker, Timothy Boillat, heard gunfire, up to 10 shots.”
A witness who says he's an employee at the FedEx facility in Indianapolis said he heard several shots being fired and saw at least one body on the floor.

Miller told the outlet, “This made me stand up and actually look out the entrance door, and I saw a man with a submachine gun of some sort, an automatic rifle, and he was firing in the open. I immediately ducked down and got scared and my friend’s mother, she came in and told us to get inside the car.”

FedEx released the following statement in response to the tragedy: “We are aware of the tragic shooting at our FedEx Ground facility near the Indianapolis airport. Safety is our top priority, and our thoughts are with all those who are affected. We are working to gather more information and are cooperating with investigating authorities.”
