(The Post Millennial) – One of former Vice President Joe Biden’s election campaign spokesmen Andrew Bates said on Friday that President Donald Trump would be “escorted” from the White House if he refused to concede the election, Daily Wire reports.
“As we said on July 19th, the American people will decide the election. And the United States government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House,” said Bates.
The statement comes as the President refuses to concede the presidential election. While most news media outlets have yet to declare a victor as the nation awaits results from Nevada, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Arizona, and Georgia, the numbers continue to look grimmer and grimmer for Trump as more ballots are counted in the remaining states.
Both Georgia and Pennsylvania, states Trump won in 2016 and had been leading in this election, have now shifted in Biden’s favour. Georgia, however, has announced that the local results will likely be subject to a recount, as Biden maintains a lead in the state of less than 2,000 votes out of nearly five million.
The Trump campaign has chosen a legal route to challenge the results in some key battleground states, although a number of these lawsuits, such as in Georgia and Michigan, have already been thrown out of court by judges.
Trump campaign counsel Matt Morgan disputed Biden’s presumed victory, saying in a statement that “Georgia is headed for a recount, where we are confident we will find ballots improperly harvested, and where President Trump will ultimately prevail. There were many irregularities in Pennsylvania, including having election officials prevent our volunteer legal observers from having meaningful access to vote counting locations.”
“In Nevada, there appear to be thousands of individuals who improperly cast mail ballots. Finally, the President is on course to win Arizona outright,” he continued.
According to a report from Fox News, the Trump campaign is considering conceding with the President receiving conflicting advice on how to proceed. While some aides are suggesting that Trump concede the election, others are encouraging him to continue fighting to ensure that every vote is legitimate. Overall, there appear to be no plans on the part of the President to make a concession.
